Quite a few years ago now, I wrote a blog called “Resilient - The Completed Jigsaw”. For many reasons walking the West Highland Way over 7 days from 4-10 April was my completed jigsaw.

The West Highland Way - My Completed Jigsaw
The West Highland Way is one of Britain’s finest walks, capturing the beauty of western Scotland as it passes through a landscape of both rich diversity and cultural heritage, covering 96 miles and many different terrains. However, it is so much more than that!
It is a lesson in:
- Human kindness - from the small acts of the people you meet and stay with along the trail - thank you;
- Community and camaraderie - we met people from Germany; Switzerland; England; America; Scotland - who you bond with and share stories with along the way;
- Resilience - definitely! Drawing on your resources and the kind messages received from friends and loved ones;
- Mindfulness -every day being totally focused on what’s in front of you and focused on the right things;
- Planning and preparation - from investing in the appropriate walking kit - boots; clothing; heat regulation and training - putting the miles in;
- Celebrating the small successes - scrambling along the side of Loch Lomond and getting over those boulders!;
- A sense of accomplishment - each day knowing I have taken myself out of my comfort zone;
- Continuous self-learning - understanding just how much your self narrative/thoughts can affect your view;
- Enjoying the journey - taking each day at a time; and finally though by no means least;
- Friendship and trust - thank you Paul for this week and our friendship of over 30 years❤️.
Aspire: To do something that will take you out of your comfort zone.
Do: Just do it! What are you waiting for?

As one-year ends, and another begins, it is an ideal time to reflect on our successes; what we have done well; what we have accomplished, however big or small.

This old adage is so true whether applied to recruitment methods, meetings or retaining talent to name but a few areas.

One of the positives of the pandemic is that there is no longer the monopoly on leadership due to position.Posted by Jacqueline Jardine - Friday, 17th December 2021 at 9:30am

I have previously written about "Belonging - what does this mean to you?" (http://j-w-c.co.uk/blog-display/293). I want to now build on this and consider it from a team's perspective and what it means if you are a manager leading a team currently.Posted by Jacqueline Jardine - Wednesday, 8th December 2021 at 8:15am
